Every now and then, going to the same restaurants becomes a habit. That said, every establishment deserves another chance for a higher grade while good ones are a guarantee of good food and a pleasant night. I’d been to PZZA.Co twice but here I was, introducing my wife to the place I love.

Since it first opened, PZZA.Co was loved by many and critiqued by a minority. It was the negative comments that made me want to come again and see what was going on for myself. As we were going down to Beirut, I couldn't but dream about the marinara pizza, the rigatoni pasta and the caramel dessert.

It was almost 10pm, so we decided to sit inside where a smooth breeze from the air conditioning was refreshing the interior. Under the artistic furnace we ordered a selection for the night.

Good to know before you start:

  • PZZA.Co now serve Parma ham and pepperoni. Don't forget to ask your waiter
  • Try the marinara, the classic tomato pizza, but ask for some goat’s cheese on top, it will make it awesome

Dinner started with a plate of olive oil and bread, served with dried hot peppers, olive oil, salt and Parmesan cheese while we waited for the starters.

What's better than a green salad to start? Not just any green mix, but an organic selection of different leaves, simply mixed with oil and a traditional balsamic vinaigrette. The roots add a fine touch of color to this beautiful mountain of green leaves. LBP18,000

With that, we went for the Boccancini in Carrozza: Baby mozzarella cheeses, breaded, served with a tomato basil sauce LBP16,000. This isn’t to be missed, it’ll take your breath away. In a deep plate, and laid on a bed of homemade tomato sauce, seven chunks of breaded mozzarella sit majestically, awaited to be devoured. Chunks of fresh, watery and oil-free mozzarella surrounded by a thin crunchy envelop of fried bread. Pick up one with a spoon, fill it with tomato sauce and enjoy some fine tastes of freshness, acidity, water and pure white cheese. The textures are enough to make you drool.

The "Pzza" is just awesome: Perfectly rounded, filled with the richest of ingredients, I looked at my pizza as a colorful piece of edible art, where all my senses were activated the minute I laid eyes on it. I can still visualize the strong red color... simple candy to my eyes. The dough is thin, fine and light. It’s great to feel the extraordinary crust prepared with love and dedication... filled with aromas and flavors. It starts with a simple bite, which takes you on a journey around Italy and its wonders. Just when you think that the experience is over, you'll reach the edges! Awesome edges... Pleasantly crunchy yet tender in the middle... you will not want to miss out on this one... A salty aftertaste will put a smile on your face. I loved the pizza so very much, and I can tell you confidently to go try one of Lebanon's best pizzas.

The Marinara with its fresh tomato, fresh basil, oregano and extra virgin olive oil is extraordinarily tasty. LBP15,000. A pizza with an intense, strong, red color that's mouthwatering and intriguing at the same time. Multiple flavors and textures combined will make you moan from joy. Bravo, dear Pizzaolo, you made my day.

Rigatoni creamy Bolognese with tomato sauce with minced beef 24,000L.L: Al dente cooked rigatoni bathing in a rich, homemade tomato sauce with its lemony aftertaste and mixed with minced meat. Just add some Parmesan to make things even tastier. This is a signature dish, which should not be missed. I've had it before and appreciated it so much that I finished the whole plate all by myself.

Now for the best part... A ritual you don't want to miss... Try their dessert pizza.

We had one divided in two. Caramel and Nutella, both superb and different. The Nutella pizza is simply awesome! I am not a fan of Nutella, but believe me this one is different. The dough absorbs the chocolate giving it an intense, sweet taste and a light crunch like no other. Combined with a light, salty taste that creates a one-of-a-kind flavor. Lightly crunchy and spongy dough that’s enjoyable all the way... But beware of biting your fingers.

Biscuit and Caramel pizza: A beautiful, golden pizza covered with crunchy biscuits and a drizzled, creamy caramel sauce. Just imagine the same unique dough covered with caramel sauce that melts from all sides while a crumble of biscuits add crunch, flavor and spice. Those thin, very crunchy and slightly brown biscuits blend perfectly well with the caramel, adding just the right amount of sweetness to the mixture. The dough absorbs the caramel, making it juicier and soft, crispy on the sides and ready to melt under your teeth in style. What the heck is that! Extraordinary, orgasmic.

It was all just exceptional... I will be back soon for the pepperoni pizza and for more caramel wonders. I left happy and serene.
